Adopted a Resolution Honoring Professional Services Staff

Wilson County Schools will be closed March 8-12 for Spring Intersession and March 15-19, 2010 for Spring Break.
The first nine weeks of the second semester ends on Friday, March 5th and report cards will be distributed to students on Thursday, March 25, 2010.
The District Accreditation Team will be evaluating the Wilson County School System from March 28-31, 2009 to determine our eligibility in becoming a District-wide Accredited School System. Many hours, a lot of work and much effort have gone into achieving this highly desired and prestigious status.
I would like to congratulate each of the teachers who were selected as their school’s Teacher of the Year. Each year Wilson County Motors and CedarStone Bank sponsor this event and one teacher is selected as the Wilson County Teacher of the Year. The Wilson County Teacher of the Year will be named at an awards banquet to be held at Cumberland University on April 16, 2010.

On Thursday, March 4, Tennessee was named as a finalist in the first round of the federal government’s Race to the Top competition, which will award $4.35 billion in competitive grants designed to encourage and reward states that are pursuing education innovation. The winning states of the grant are expected to be announced in April.
Our regularly scheduled Board meeting scheduled for April 5, 2010 has been rescheduled for March 31 at 1:00 p.m. The date and time was changed to accommodate the District Accreditation process.
