Thank you for your interest in the Wilson County School System. We are excited to introduce our new on-line application. All certified and classified applicants, including current employees of Wilson County Schools, should submit their application on-line for any current openings listed. Using our new system you can upload resumes, transcripts, reference letters, licenses, and other documents. It is easy to review, edit, and update your information.
If you have previously filled out a paper application with Wilson County Schools, you will need to reapply using our new on-line application.
Our new system requires that you apply for each and every job for which you are interested. Once you have applied electronically the first time, you can apply for other posted vacancies by simply clicking on the link for Employment Opportunities and following the directions at the top of the page for returning applicants.
If you wish to apply, but there are no specific openings listed, scroll to the bottom of the job list where you will find generic openings for elementary education, secondary education, special education (certified) and classified positions. You may enter your information using one of these perpetual openings. Then, when you do see a specific opening in which you are interested, you will simply follow the easy directions for a returning applicant.
When applying, please take into consideration the following:
- The application consists of multiple modules. In order to expedite the time to fill it out, we recommend that you gather all the information and dates you need such as education, transcripts, job history, and reference information prior to starting the application process.
- You may print a blank copy of the application before filling it out. That may help you gather the data you need before you start.
Certified Applicants:
- Although you may submit your application after entering only the starred items (**), your application will be considered “incomplete” until you have provided the following:
- Resume
- Completed On-line Application
- College Transcripts
- Copy of Praxis or NTE scores
- Copy of your Tennessee Teaching License
- Highly Qualified documentation if you were deemed HQ in a state other than Tennessee
- Please upload your electronic files (Microsoft Word, pdf) through the on-line application process. If your documents are not already in an electronic format, you should scan them to a file and upload them. Documents faxed or sent in the mail have the potential to be separated from your on-line application.
After reviewing all applications for completion, eligibility requirements, academic standards, and system needs, the HR Department will forward the names of qualified applicants to the principal of the school with the open position. At the same time, qualified applicants will receive an
e-mail (Letter of Clearance or LOC) confirming that their application has been approved for that position. Due to the large volume of applications we receive, it can take up to two weeks to review an applicant's information. Your application will be retained in active status for one year from the date of application. During that year, you may add or update information to your application at any time.
Principals will conduct the initial interviews and make a hiring recommendation to the Director of Schools. In order to interview with a principal, you must have received an e-mail (LOC) which confirms that you are a qualified candidate for that position. Please take a copy of that e-mail with you when you interview with the principal. You may contact a principal regarding a specific job if you have an LOC naming you as a candidate for the position; however, an LOC does not guarantee that you will receive an interview, only that the principal is authorized to interview you.
Again, we appreciate your interest in the Wilson County School System and wish you the best of luck in your job search.
