The Wilson County School System serves approximately 15,000 students in kindergarten through adult education. Eight elementary schools, three elementary/junior high schools, two middle schools, one junior/senior high school, three high schools, one vocational center, one adult high school, and an adult basic education program make up the 20 sites.

The Wilson County Schools are committed to excel in all areas of education. The system strives to obtain the best teachers and administrators possible. Of the 991 people employed in positions that require state certification, 472 or approximately 48 percent, have attained an educational degree at the Masters level or higher. We have 78 certified employees or about 8 percent who have achieved career ladder status of two or three. All schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

The administration of Wilson County Schools has lowered pupil-teacher ratios, increased the number of teaching assistants, increased the number of counselors and has added school nurses as a way of providing better service to the students of Wilson County.
