Testimonials which speak for themselves...

My GED classes mean the world to me. I feel comfortable here. The staff and teachers here at The Adult Learning Center are sweet, kind, concerned, and really believe in the students. That means a lot to me. Mrs. Janice is one of the best teachers I have ever known. She believes in us and is never too busy to listen and help with any problem we have. I have met some great friends with the same dreams I have. When I leave here, I will be leaving with the first step of my dream accomplished, but with tears in my eyes. I will miss my friends and the ladies at school, but my future is out there and I'm going to get it!!!

This class is simply a beginning. You need a seed to produce a tree. We must crawl before we walk. After I leave this class, I'll have a few more options. There will be a few more forks in the road, rather than a simple dead-end. It all comes down to one thing: opportunity.

My plans are to go to nursing school after I get my GED. I love working with the sick and injured...
This class has meant a lot to me. I have met some of the best people. The teachers, staff, and students are what make me come to school. The classes are exciting, fun, and relevant. The teaching is great, and most of all, we are treated like adults. It doesn't make any difference to anyone that we are on welfare. We are not treated like another number in a book. This class has taught me a lot, and I look forward to coming daily.

I knew I wanted more and I wanted to be more, but I didn't feel like I was smart enough to learn. I was afraid of being told that I would fail and that I would never be able to learn anything of value.
When I first came to the classes at the Wilson County Adult Learning Center, I was very scared and felt overwhelmed...My teacher gave me the confidence and security to hold on and not give up. She made me feel like I could learn anything as long as I kept with her and asked questions.
My plans now are to go on to college and get a degree in law, as that's my passion.
