ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY PROCESS

 

An assistive technology concern is raised by the parent, teacher, etc. or a student with AT on their IEP transfers into Wilson County

A consideration form is completed by the child’s special education teacher and faxed to the AT Center along with the student's current IEP.

An AT facilitator will schedule a consultation with the referring teacher to make recommendations.

Recommendations will be implemented by the referring teacher with assistance/training as needed from the AT facilitator

The recommendations are successful

Additional information is needed

Follow-up will continue to monitor success/changes needed

A Parent Consent Form is completed

Observations are completed by relevant staff

A meeting is scheduled with parents and relevant staff

Recommendations are looked at closely making revisions as needed

Follow-up will continue to monitor success/changes needed
