Mission Of The School Counseling Program
The school counseling program enables all students to achieve success in
school and to develop into contributing members of our society.
Here at Lakeview all classes come to Guidance about twice a month,
for 30 minutes in K-3, 40 minutes in 4th and 5th grades.
All classes will have a curriculum, along with a workbook,
called Too Good for Violence, which teaches students conflict resolution.
The curriculum Too Good for Violence consists of four interconnected strands.
C onflict resolution
A nger management
R espect for self and others
E ffective communication
By using these four interwoven concepts, Too Good for Violence (K–5)
is able to offer a caring approach to violence prevention.
It teaches that each student has what it takes to solve conflicts
peaceably and provides opportunities to practice peacemaking skills
At the end of Too Good for Violence they bring their booklets home.
Along with most of the lessons, the students will be bringing home
a parent letter, letting you know what we covered in guidance that day.
