Welcome to the Best
Practices in Technology home page for Mt. Juliet High
School. Here you will find outstanding examples of
successful teaching-learning projects and strategies that
show our classrooms are places of active learning where students are
moving
toward greater achievement and performance. These
examples recognize, disseminate, and promote exemplary and
innovative practices using technology as a direct result of the Technology Literacy Challenge Fund
2001 grant. They
represent student-centered learning activities requiring
higher-order thinking skills and are designed to respond to a variety
of learning styles and skill levels to meet Tennessee Curriculum
Standards. A committee of school officials was
formed to evaluate the lessons. After determining the
process used in selecting Best Practice examples, a rubric
was established.
Designed in connection with
more than 27 hours of on-site professional development
training for each teacher, these lessons include the support of a local Technology Coach,
wireless laptop computers, and other technology
resources. A significant amount of time was also spent
by each teacher outside of their assigned training time
working on their own and attending after-school professional
development workshops.
In appreciation to the
teachers above, it is our hope you will find
these lessons helpful. All files are listed in
Acrobat Reader format (.pdf). To view them, you will need to
