Mrs. Whitmire's Reflection of Lesson

Lisa Whitmire has been teaching for ten years.  She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.  After working for a few years, she decided to go back to school to become a teacher.  In 1992 she graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education.  Lisa taught Beginning and Intermediate Algebra at Coconino County Community College.  Then in 1993, Lisa moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, and AP Statistics.  In 2000 her husband was transferred to Nashville.  She now teaches at Mt. Juliet High School in the Mathematics Department.

Mrs. Whitmire's philosophy of technology integration is:

"The integration of technology has given mathematics students the opportunity to see how mathematics can be used in everyday life.  The students are always asking that question.  Allowing the students to use their creativity and knowledge along with calculators and computers, they will be well-prepared for the high-paced changing real world."
