Parents need help too

Parents, if you are having difficulty dealing with your teens or have questions or are just looking for support. Meeting with other parents monthly is a good way to swap advice on dating, discipline, and other issues you may be facing!

Tutoring Advice

Even the best of us need help from time to time. The important thing is to be able to realize when you are in over your head, and to ask questions or even stay after school if possible if you think you may be in too deep.

Standardized test time!

Remember that all tests should be taken seriously, not just the ones that effect your GPA. If you are struggling to find the motivation to try on a test remember that the percentile you rank in is based against your fellow students, and that you can make it a personal goal to do better than your peers!

STAY IN SCHOOL!

Staying in school is possibly the most important choice you can make in your life. Parents, if your student is considering dropping out, it is important to schedule a meeting with your student's guidance counselor. You may find that your student is taking too hard of classes or that the classes are not hard enough or even that the student does not feel like he/she is a part of the school.

Keys to confidence

1. Parents practice communicating with your child, teens are more receptive to people they feel that they can talk to openly!

2. Teens make sure to set goals, it helps to have something to look forward too!

3. Conquer your nerves! High school can be a nerve racking experience if you always worry about what others think of you. Sometimes you just have to jump in the middle of things!

Confident teens are less likely to be bullied, fall in to peer pressure, and they are more likely to go after opportunities and set positive goals.

New driver safety

Driving is a very exciting experience, and getting your drivers license is always exciting. However driving is a huge responsibility so make sure to always follow these basic rules.

1. Always buckle up!

2. Focus all of your attention on the road!

3. Never drink and drive or ride with anyone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol!
