Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) - Units of Study

  • Careersdrawing
  • Technical Sketching
  • Scale Drawings and models
  • Manual two-dimensional drawings
  • Manual three-dimensional drawings
  • Basic functions of CAD software, and
  • Students will demonstrate leadership, citizenship, and teamwork

Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) Advanced - Units of Study

  • Using CAD create advanced:
  • Two and three-dimensional scale drawings
  • Dimensions and tolerances
  • Set of working drawings for residential construction
  • Demonstrate basic structural engineering concepts
  • Use CAD for drawing:
  • Sections and pictorial drawings
  • Assembly drawings
  • Architectural Drawing techniques

Supply List CAD

  • Pencil and eraser are required daily
  • Quad paper is needed the first 9 weeks (graph paper with ¼” squares)

About Mr. Cothron

  • Architect
  • Five year Bachelor of Architecture degree - UT Knoxville, TN.
  • Teacher training at NSCC, Trevecca Nazarene College and MTSU

Class Rules

1. Show common courtesy. Show respect for teachers, fellow classmates, and property.

2. Leave all gripes, complaints and gossip outside the classroom. Talk to me privately about grade or any other concerns.

3. Realize that it is your responsibility to be prepared for class, (Bring paper and pen/pencil every day.) Also be prepared to learn.

4. Remain at your seat until the bell rings.

5. Follow (without discussion) all county and school rules and policies.

6. No food or drink will be allowed in the classroom.

7. It is expected that we behave as young business professionals. This would include no horseplay, throwing or other unsafe behaviors.
