It is not the event of divorce itself that has the greatest impact on a child; it's the actions parents take during and after the divorce that make the difference in how your child is affected by the change in his/her life.
Co-Parenting After Divorce
5 steps to protect your child as you co-parent after divorce:
1. Keep your child out of the middle.
2. Allow your child to love both parents.
3. Work on your own recovery.
4. Develop new communication skills.
5. Create a new relationship as co-parents.
Healthy co-parenting does not look
like this, with the child struggling in
the middle, with many questions.
Healthy co-parenting allows the child to
love both parents, who have created a
new relationship. They communicate well
together to eliminate damage to the child.
