Best has helped me in many ways. Best has inspired me to be all I can be. Best has also shown me just how fun engineering can be. Due to the experience I have decided to pursue a career in engineering for NASA and specialization in robotics. Our main mentor, Mrs. Liddle, has also inspired me. She pushes us to achieve all we can when everything seems hopeless, she tells us to keep trying. Instead of saying we can win she says we will win. For the judges judging this thank you for making all this happen. It has truly been an unforgettable experience.

By involving myself in BEST, I have gained many great things. I have made lasting friendships, discovered possible career fields, and found things I greatly enjoy doing. I initially joined MJMS Robotics Club due to an invitation from a fellow member, Jordan Steakin. I am very glad I joined because I discovered I like engineering sciences.

Web Design Team Lead - Jordan Steakin

BEST has helped to encourage me to learn how to create a web site and I have found that I enjoy building web sites and really excels at it. BEST also has given me the confidence to lead and teach other students. I also have gained the confidence to be on the public speaking team. I now want to become an Aerospace Engineering. I am glad I joined robotics because I made some very strong bonds.

Notebook Team Lead - Taylor Petty

BEST has been a very exciting experience for me. I love the feeling of adrenaline you get when you are in the finals and be the driver in the last round. You feel like you have unlimited powers. By far, it is the best feeling I've ever experienced. I've made many new friends this year due to my participation in BEST. It is the best experience and I have loved every minute of it.

Robot Design and Build Team Lead - Alex Landis

BEST 2009 has had a huge impact on my life. It has taught me how to trust my classmates and work as a team. BEST has encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone so that I can perform not only with driving, but with public speaking in front of a large audience. I've learned quite a bit on the computer like making a power point. I have found that I not only can help write the engineering notebook I also found it fun to write with a group.

CAD Team Lead - Hunter Hinshaw

Joining BEST was probably the best decision I ever made. I have learned many useful things. BEST has helped me choose a career path. I have made the choice to become a robotics engineer for NASA. I have enjoyed robotics even more since I have joined robotics club. I am truly thankful for BEST.

Booth Team Lead - Grady Dunlap

I feel that BEST has helped me with real-world skills, such as work-managament, leadership, and working with a group. As booth leader, I have had to get booth members to focus, practice, and calm down. My group and leadership skills have been greatly improved by the stress and excitement of it all. It's not easy, buts it's an amazing experience.

Best Mission Statement

Best is a non-profit, volunteer based organization whose mission is to inspire students to pursue a career in engineering, science, and technology through participation in a sports like, science and engineering based robotic competitions.
