Principal Yvonne Kittrell, a proud product of the Wilson County School System, graduated from MJHS in 1975. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master's Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University. Yvonne was Assistant Principal at W.A. Wright Elementary for five years, and she became principal of Rutland Elementary when the school opened in 1999. Yvonne feels children learn best when they are excited about coming to school,and she feels blessed to work with parents, teachers and students who are so enthusiastic about learning.

What makes your school unique? Our family friendly atmosphere is what sets our school apart from most. On a daily basis you’ll see parents and grandparents volunteering their time by tutoring and reading to students. We pride ourselves at Rutland on the efforts we make to cater to families as a whole by providing parent workshops and student activities at night. We feel that by parents, teachers, and students working collaboratively students will be more successful.
