The Southside Chapter of the Fellowship
of Christian Athletes held their first annual (?) lock-in beginning
Friday, March 30 and ending Saturday, March 31. Thirty-seven students
participated and had a lot of fun. The night began with a trip to
The Family Fun Center in Hendersonville where games galore and pizza (not
so galore) were enjoyed by all. We returned to Southside around 10:00
and were treated to a moving devotional by Lebanon High School star basketball
and baseball player Matt Vaughn.
Afterwards, the kids were divided
into 4 groups and intense competition was held in several events, including:
balloon pant stuffing, clothespin clipping, balloon stomping, and a scavenger
hunt.
Ms Bartlett then shared a lesson on
prayer and the kids used this as a guideline to help them learn how to
not only pray for themselves but for others also. A midnight snack
of ice cream followed before settling down to watch the movie "Left Behind".
What few kids remained awake after the movie had free time to play or visit.
Breakfast was held at 6 AM.
Below are a few pictures of the lock-in.
