Southside's third and fourth graders recently attended a wonderful program entitled SIDE BY SIDE, performed by LifeWork Productions, part of Family and Children Services (FCS). Mr. George Pendergrass, Southside's STARS counselor, performs on occasion with LifeWork Productions and was able to bring this talented group to our school. We are extremely grateful to have Mr. Pendergrass as our STARS counselor here at Southside!

SIDE BY SIDE has a message of understanding
and acceptance. The show wants the students to understand that, even
though we may share similarities with others, we are differnet in many
ways. In one part of the program, two characters realize that if
everyone was exactly the same, the world would be a very dull place.
The characters walked, talked, dressed, thought, felt and spoke exactly
the same. Imagine a world like that...BORING!
