Air Rifle Team Honors
 
The NJROTC Air Rifle team competed against 13 teams at the Cherokee National Guard Armory in Rogersville, TN winning a Second Place trophy. The team also took home a Second place team trophy in the prone position and third place trophies in the standing and kneeling positions. David Woods won a gold medal for shooting first place on his team. Silver Civilian Marksmanship Pins were awarded to David Woods and Paul Gillis with Bronze CMP pins going to Brandon Long and Dakota Claxton. This was only the second shoulder-to-shoulder competition for the team.

Air Rifle Safety & Marksmanship Camp

Purpose: To introduce students to the sport of air rifle marksmanship in a safe environment.

Objectives:

a. Teach safety rules for handling any and all types of guns.

b. Teach safe handling and operation of competition air rifles.

c. Teach students the basics of the three positions of competition air rifle shooting prone, standing, and kneeling.

d. To introduce students to the sport of air rifle competition.

e. Students will shoot competition air rifles on a safe controlled air rifle range.

Open to all Wilson County Middle School and High School students.
