All WCHS Library books are now due. Please return by Thursday, May 15th to avoid late fees.
 
Seniors being recognized with highest honors, high honors, and honors will have their picture taken Wed., May 14th during homeroom.
 
Chevrolet is giving away a 2008 Chevy Cobalt to a Middle Tennessee Senior. What's the catch? You must attend class. Seniors with no more than two excused absences and no unexcused absences will be entered to win. It could happen, Wilson Central alumni Allison England drove a brand new car to college thanks to Chevy's Perfect Attendance give away.
 
Class of 2009-
Juniors, it's time to schedule you senior pictures. Sign up outside room S105 by May 16th for your Senior Session. Pictures will be taken on the following dates 8am-4pm.

Incoming Freshman-
Now is the time to set academic goals for yourself. Check out the 2012 graduation requirements to achieve the honor of Tennessee State Scholar.
 

Attention Incoming Freshman (Class of 2012)-
Make plans to attend Wildcat Welcome.

Top 25% honor graduates need to pick up their cords in the Library.
 
Don't forget to recylce old cell phones and plastic bottles. Please place them in the designated containers around school. Plastic bottles must be marked as #1 or #2 plastic (usually found on the bottom of the bottle).
 

Attention WCHS Class of 2008 Top 10%-
The academic banquet for the top ten percent of the 2008 senior class is Thursday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m. in Baird’s Chapel at Cumberland University.  There is no cost for the student, guests are $15.00 each.  Reservations must be made ahead of time with Mrs. Whited in the guidance office.  For information, contact her at 453-4600 ext. 3015 or whitedk@wcschools.com

 

New Student Registration-
There will be 2 registration days during the summer for students who will be moving to the Wilson Central school zone.  This is not for our current students.  The dates are:
June 5 – 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
July 29 – 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

UMC's Annual Sports Screening Day-
UMC's physicians and staff offer complimentary sports physicals to students grades 10th-12th, Saturday, May 17th. Athletes must have a
TSSAA pre-participation medical form (10-12th graders)
filled out by a medical representative and on file at the school before participation in any sport.
**According to a new state law, incoming freshman must see their
primary care physician, or the health department to obtain an Interscholastic Sports Examination (9th grade).
 
Volleyball Tryouts for the 2008-09 season will be held July 7- 11th, 8am-11am in the new gym. Contact Coach Serbin with any questions.

Drivers Education Training offered by Workforce Essentials-
June 2 - 5 or July 21 - 24
The full program (given on the above dates) is for students who have NOT had in-school classroom drivers training hours. The full program includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours behind the wheel. Classes are held at Wilson Central from 8am - 3:30pm for $350.00. Register online

Upcoming ACT Test Dates-
June 14 (registration deadline May 9th)
If you are planning on taking the ACT test, registration packets may be picked up in the Guidance office. The State of Tennessee provides vouchers to pay for one base test fee for each student. You may get a voucher from Mrs. Tomlinson in Guidance.
