Parking

Student parking is a privilege on the WCHS campus. In order to promote safety and security, all vehicles must be registered on campus and must display a valid parking permit. Permits can be purchased in the ROTC office before and after normal school hours.

There is a $20 non-refundable fee for parking permits.

Parking permits must be permanently affixed to the outside of the front windshield, lower drivers side.

Parking

Parking permits are color coded and correspond to specific parking areas: Honors, Lower Level, and Upper Level. A graphic is on file in the ROTC office indicating the designation of the parking areas. Students are required to park in the specific area that corresponds to their parking permit while school is in session.

Once assigned a parking area, changes will not routinely be made to a different parking area.

Students who will be driving more than one automobile will be entitled to additional permits for vehicles owned by members of their immediate family at no additional cost. Students must present the vehicle for additional permits which will be affixed by school personnel upon verification of registration.

            Items required for parking permit:

  1. Drivers license
  2. Vehicle registration
  3. WCHS registration form with parent/guardian and vehicle owner’s signature.
  4. $20 cash or check made payable to Wilson Central High School.

Parking spaces marked in WHITE are reserved for faculty, school administration, and visitors. Parking spaces marked in YELLOW are for student use within their designated parking area.

Parking outside of marked parking spaces is prohibited. Vehicles parked on grass or in access lanes will be towed at owners risk and expense.

A reserved parking area is provided for members of the National Honor Society (NHS) and the BETA Club. Students must be on the current NHS or BETA roster in order to purchase this permit. Parking in this area is prohibited unless the appropriate permit is displayed. These spaces are located near the football stadium and are designated with a large yellow square and lettered “RESERVED” in the middle of the parking space. These parking spaces are also utilized as reserved parking at home football games and other events: students must vacate these spaces immediately at the end of the regular school day on dates that there will be a home football game or other event designated by the principal.

Parking privileges may be suspended for an indefinite period without refund of parking fee for improper parking or for operating the vehicle in an irresponsible manner.

Any vehicle driven onto campus is subject to search.

ParkingGuidelines:

  1. There is a 10 (ten) m.p.h. maximum speed limit on campus.
  2. Parking permits are required for all vehicles in all parking areas.
  3. Cars are off limits during the school day unless special permission is obtained from one of the principals or SRO.
  4. Parking permits are color coded and students are required to park in the specific area designated for their parking permit color.
  5. Vehicles should remain locked at all times while at school.
  6. The only reason for a student to be in a vehicle is to arrive or depart from school.
  7. Loitering in the parking lot is prohibited.
  8. Vehicles should park in the manner for which the parking space is designed – parallel to and never at an angle to the painted lines.
  9. Vehicles should not impede or obstruct access lanes, fire lanes, or adjacent parking spaces.

Parking Consequences

1. Students will not be allowed to leave class and parents will not be called to correct a parking violation.

2. Vehicles that do not display a parking permit, park improperly, or park in the wrong area will be towed without warning at the owners risk and expense.
