Robbin
Morthel, Principal
I
am Robbin D. Morthel, and the oldest of five children. I was
raised in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. My spouse is Eddie Morthel. I
have one step-daughter, one step-granddaughter and three great
grandchildren. I have one sister and three brothers. My parents,
Thomas and Sarah Bender still reside in Mt. Juliet.
I received my
elementary and secondary education in the Wilson County School
System. I currently have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in
Special Education for K-12 and a Master’s Degree in Counseling,
Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Trevecca
University. In addition, I am currently working on my doctorate
at Trevecca and will complete the program May 2, 2009.
I was a Special
Education teacher in Wilson County Schools for sixteen years and
a school counselor at W.A. Wright Elementary for five years, and
assistant principal at Mt. Juliet Middle School for five years.
Presently, I have been selected to be the principal at West
Elementary School beginning in the fall of 2008.
I attend church at
Holy Temple Church located in Mt. Juliet. My hobbies are reading
and enjoying life. My priorities are family, church, and making
the difference in the lives of people.
In order to be a leader a man must have
followers. And to have followers, a man must have their
confidence. Hence, the supreme quality for a leader is
unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is
possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football
field, in an army, or in an office. If a man's associates find
him guilty of being phony, if they find that he lacks forthright
integrity, he will fail. His teachings and actions must square
with each other. The first great need therefore is integrity and
high purpose.

Becky
Siever, Assistant PrincipalMy name
is Becky Siever and I am thrilled to be at West Elementary. I
was a classroom teacher at Lakeview and Mt. Juliet Elementary
before becoming the new Assistant Principal. I have experience
teaching grades 2nd-6th grades and I even
briefly taught an adult GED class. I have also taught in the
White County school district as well as Holy Rosary Academy.
I am
married to Philip and have two terrific boys. One is in the 5th
grade at Lakeview and the other is an 8th grade
student at Mt. Juliet Middle School.
I
believe that all children should be treated fairly and with
respect. I want to help them learn to be good citizens and
great students. One of my favorite sayings is, "If it is to be,
it is up to me." I think all students should make that part of
their every day life at West. I want them to know that they are
the only ones that can "MAKE IT HAPPEN" whether it be making
good grades or making good behavior choices.
