Dr. Smith teaches Spanish I, II, and III at WHS. He earned his BS and Masters of Education degrees from MTSU and his DOM degree from Lake Charles Bible College. He has been teaching for 39 years at the end of the 2006-07 school year and has no current plans for retirement. Dr. Smith and his wife Gayle have 3 children; Joseph, Amanda, and Rebecca, and 3 grandchildren. Dr. Smith is an extremely avid UT fan. You rarely see him without one of his UT neckties on!
