Jennifer JohnsonDirector of Schools, Dr. Donna L. Wright, has named former news anchor and reporter, Jennifer Johnson as Wilson County Schools’ Public Information Officer. Jennifer is an Emmy award winning journalist, with more than two decades of experience… either asking the tough questions or responding to them on behalf of law enforcement.

Ms. Johnson spent the first decade of her career, working as a crime reporter for television stations in Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee.
During a 5-year break from news, Jennifer spent two years serving as the spokesperson for the Tennessee Department of Correction. In 2004, she was tapped to launch the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s first media relations office.
Dr. Wright stated, “Ms. Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge in communications and she understands the day to day communication needed in a school system. Her professionalism, work ethic, and the respect she enjoys throughout the state are undeniable. We are thrilled to have Jennifer as Wilson County Schools’ Public Information Officer. Jennifer has spent a good deal of her life in service of others with agencies that make a difference for the public as a whole. Her salary is equivalent to that of an elementary school principal. Although she could easily make more money in the public sector, Ms. Johnson has a heart for making a difference in service to the community. We are so honored that she has joined our Wilson County Schools family.”
