Wilson County Schools opened its newest school in the district on Sunday, July 14, 2019, by hosting a ceremonial ribbon cut. It served as the official signal that Gladeville Middle is ready to go for the 2019-2020 school year. The community response to Sunday’s ribbon cut was tremendous with nearly 2,500 attending.
This year the district has approved two phase-in days for kindergarten teachers and their students. These days allow for those teachers and students to get to know each other on a smaller and more personalized scale rather than all kindergarten students arriving at the same time.

TLC program is consolidating – not closing. In an effort to accommodate a progressive and growing school system, the changes to TLC program are necessary to keep the program in place while also complying with state regulations. This program is a district privilege and not a statewide obligation. Wilson County Schools takes pride in offering this childcare service for employees. All TLC employees will have an assigned site and will not be displaced with childcare. Spaces still remain, and there is no tuition increase.
Per the November 5, 2018 board meeting, the start/end times at our schools will change slightly for the 2019-2020 school calendar year.
