Adult Education FAQ

  • What is the cost?
Classes are FREE! In fact for those who qualify, a voucher will be issued to pay for the HiSET exam.

How do I get started in the HiSET preparation classes?
Call (615) 443-8731 for an appointment and orientation.

What should I expect at orientation?
Orientation begins with registration paperwork. You will complete your assessment, meet with an administrator to go over your results, and set up a plan of success to meet your needs. This appointment takes approximately three (3) hours.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Bring two forms of ID such as a driver license or state ID and Social Security card or birth certificate.

How long will it take to earn my HiSET?
Everyone enters at different academic levels, so there is no set time. The date of completion is dependent on the student’s commitment and determination to succeed.

    Are online classes available?
An online program is available for anyone who meets certain requirements.
