What is the Adult Learning Center?
The Adult Learning Center offers many free opportunities for educational growth for adults. The most frequently requested program prepares students to earn a high school equivalency diploma (formerly GED). Refresher classes in reading, math, and writing are available for students enrolling in college or vocational training. A basic literacy program benefits students who struggle with reading comprehension, math, and writing. All classes are small with self-paced learning.
What is the HiSET?
The HiSET is the High School Equivalency Test that is taken to earn a High School Equivalency diploma. This was once called the GED in the state of Tennessee.
The HiSET exam reflects the skills of a high school graduate and provides a fair, rigorous exam. The HiSET exam is about seven hours from start to finish, and is broken down into five subtests. These tests can be taken individually on different days over a period of time.
