  • Academic competition club

    Sponsors: Mrs. Liddle, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Nugent

    The Academic Competition Club is for those students who would like to compete in different academic competitions throughout middle Tennessee. If you are interested in Quiz Bowl, Science, Math, Writing, or History and would like to compete as a team in these different competitions, Academic Competition Club is for you.

     

    Art Club

    Sponsor: Mrs. Hammer

    There is a $35 fee to join, which pays for supplies and an art club sweatshirt. We meet once a month after school.

    Best Buddies

    Sponsor: Mary Piercey 

    Best Buddies is a club that serves to build friendships between students with and without disabilities. In this club you will be paired/grouped with students with disabilities to form a friendship with that person.

    We will meet monthly and will have activities that we take part in as a group throughout the year as well. We would love to have you join us! Meeting times will be determined at a later date.

    Do you have an interest in learning a new skill? Then crochet club may be for you! Everyone is welcome and no previous skill is required. We just ask that you bring your own supplies.

    Drama Club

    Sponsor: Mrs. London 

    This club consists of students who are participating in the plays and musical productions for MJMS throughout the year. Auditions are held for each show. Plays and Crews have a cap on the number of spots, but everyone who auditions for the musical will be cast in a role whether principal or ensemble. Auditions are announced via newsletter, Skyward, Schoology, Remind, Google Classroom and via student announcements and posters. Audition Sign ups will be through Sign Up Genius. Keep an eye out for upcoming information and signups.

     

    FCA- Fellowship of Christian Athletes

    Sponsor: Coach Hawks and Mr. Wyatt

    FCA will meet every other Thursday for 6th/7th & every other Friday for 8th

    First Priority

    First Priority is a youth organization that supports student-initiated, student-led Christian clubs on middle school and high school campuses.

    "Get on board" club

    Board game club is an opportunity to meet new friends and play board games!

    Jazz Band

    Sponsor: Mrs. Slater 

    Jazz band will meet after school, every Wednesday from 3:45-5:45pm in the MJMS Band Room. If you play any instrument (including drum set, piano, electric guitar, and bass guitar) you can join!

    This will be a math time for peer tutoring to occur. Members do not have to attend every meeting.

    Student Ambassadors

    Sponsors: Mrs. Bowman, Ms. Bush, and Mrs. Duschik

    Student Ambassadors is a social/hospitality club that will meet occasionally throughout the year. Students will represent MJMS in welcoming new students, giving tours, making welcome baskets while getting to know new students throughout the year. Opportunites may include after school socials, eating lunch with new students, community involvement, and serving as a greeter occasionally at school events.

    Thursday afternoons 3:30-4:30 MJMS, room 203

    We do community service and provide school spirit through numerous activities that we plan throughout the school year (dances, homecoming week, etc.) We are a member of the TASC (Tennessee Association of Student Councils) and help promote leadership roles through the organization along with attending the state convention.
