Reward School 2014-2015

  • Reward School

The hard work of our students, staff, parents, and community was, once again, recognized when it was announced on Monday, August 3rd that Lakeview had been named a Tennessee Reward School.  To be named a Reward School, a school must place in the top 5% for annual growth and/or achievement (student performance) on the state standardized test.  Lakeview received the recognition in the area of achievement.

Governor Bill Haslam and Tennessee's Commissioner of Education, Candice McQueen, delivered the news at W.A. Wright Elementary School.  “We are honored to recognize these Reward Schools for leading the state in progress and performance,” Gov. Bill Haslam said.

Overall, 25 percent of Wilson County’s 20 schools were named a Reward School.  We are honored to share this great recognition with Mt. Juliet Elementary as well as the three schools, Gladeville Elementary School, Mt. Juliet High School, and W.A. Wright Elementary School, who received Reward School status in both areas of growth and performance.  Wilson County Schools had the most Reward Schools in both areas than any other district in the state.

Mrs. Burge was so honored to accept the award on behalf of the entire school.  She stated that being named a Reward School was like a "...proud momma moment."  She went on to say, “It’s outstanding to be a reward school. Just knowing that the students, teachers, parents, and everyone involved to get the students where they need to be are receiving this recognition is like a proud momma moment. I look forward to showing it off and sharing it with my faculty, staff and students and letting them know their hard work paid off."
