Director's Message

  • Jeff Luttrell

    November 1, 2022

There is so much happening in Wilson County Schools and in Wilson County, as a whole.  I hope families took the opportunity to attend the many Fall Fests, participate in Trunk-or-Treat, attend an athletic event, take a nature walk, and enjoy time together.

Teaching and learning go hand-in-hand and both will be at the forefront of each day as the fall semester comes to an end. Students work toward gaining new knowledge as instructors present new materials to encourage higher-level thinking skills and review previously taught skills to add to the learning experience.

Attendance is key to the success of the teaching and learning environment.  Absences add up.  Missing just 2 days a month means a student misses 10% of the school year.  Let’s make it a challenge to be in every classevery day for the remainder of this semester.

    Director of Schools

  • District Receives Great Designation From TDOE & 2021-2022 Reward Schools Announced

We are very excited to announce that Wilson County Schools has been designated as an “Advancing District” by the Tennessee Department of Education.  This designation places the district among the higher tier of academic performing districts across the entire state. This designation was based on various data points from the 2021-2022 school year. When taking into account the disruptions that COVID had caused in previous years, this designation is something to be extremely proud of.
