May, 2021

  • Although this school year was one like no other we have all persevered and have become stronger individuals.  I'm so thankful to be surrounded by the best children in Middle TN along with a wonderful faculty and staff that loves children and values academic success, supports social and emotional well-being, and encourages goal-setting.  Additionally, I'm grateful for the support and grace that you, as a parent, have provided us this school year.  Although the tornadoes of 2020 followed by a global pandemic did their best to wreck our year, our teachers accepted the challenge to ensure that our West Bulldogs thrived!

Ultimately, next school year will be better and I look forward to it.  Congratulations to our outgoing 5th graders that are entering their next chapter as we welcome our incoming Kindergarteners that are just getting their feet wet in regards to their academic journey.  Below are a few end-of-the-year items as we close out the 2020/2021 school year:

Teacher of the Month - Please join me in congratulating Jennifer Terhune as our May Teacher of the Month!!  Ms. Jennifer has been serving West Elementary for several years as our music teacher.  In addition, she has been instrumental (pun intended) in our end-of-the-year ceremonies with Kindergarten and 5th grade

Masks - As a reminder, masks and facial coverings are still required for students.  5 more days of masks and then we are through!!!

Come join our Cafeteria Squad - We will have an open position in our café at the end of this school year.  The position is part-time (4 hrs per day) from 9:30-1:30 Monday through Friday.  Starting pay is $10 per hr.  For more information, please contact Dr. Plummer.
