ABOUT MRS. PROCTOR

  • I grew up in small-town Indiana, but moved to the Nashville area when I attended college at Vanderbilt University in 1998. I graduated with a B.A. in English and Anthropology in 2002, and began teaching Language Arts at Mt. Juliet Middle School. After 12 years of teaching, I earned my Master's degree in Education/Library Science from MTSU in 2017. I have worked as a librarian at Lebanon High school for the past two years, and I am so excited to come back to my middle school roots and be the librarian at GMS this year!

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, reading, writing, swimming, and doing puzzles. I am married and have eight-year-old twins who are currently 3rd graders at Gladeville Elementary. They will be attending GMS in a few years.

My philosophy is that the library is a place for everyone, and should be a warm, welcoming, and collaborative space that strives to meet the needs of every member of the school community. I also think a day without laughter is a day wasted. I can't wait to read, learn, and laugh with all of you!
