Google Accounts and Apps

    • Students and teachers all have access to a Google for eduation account.  This grants access to the valuable tools listed below. You can access any of these by logging into your Google account and clicking the "waffle" or "cube"on the top right of the login page.

      Logging onto School Computers & Google

      • Username
        • First 5 letters of last name
        • First 3 letters of the first name followed by 000 (if 000 doesn't work, try 001, up to 015)
        • Example = hollobro000
      • Password
        • First 3 letter of last name + lunch code
        • First letter of password MUST be capitalized
        • Example = Joh12345
      • Teachers can look up student logins under "student access login' in Skyward.  The student's lunch number is listed as "other name."
      • Google email address is your username followed by

      Google Classroom

      Similar to Schoology, Google Classroom helps teachers create and collect assignments paperlessly. Students need a code (usually 6 or 7 characters with a mix of letters and numbers) to join a specific class.  Classroom codes are provided by the individual teacher. 

      Google Drive

      Google Drive is a file storage service created by Google. It allows users to store, uploads and share files in the cloud and access from any internet connected device.

      Google Docs

      Google Docs can be used instead of Microsoft Word. Create, add, or upload documents and files with a single button. Your files in Drive can be reached from any smartphone, tablet, or computer and all of your information saves automatically. You can quickly invite others to view, download, and collaborate on what you are working on. Most teachers require students to share Docs, so it is a good idea to be familiar it!

      Google Slides

      Google Slides can be used instead of PowerPoint. With Google Slides, you can create, edit, collaborate, and present wherever you are. Google Slides has a variety of presentation themes, fonts, embedded video, animations, and more. 

      Google Sheets

      Google Sheets can be used instead of Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets with automatic data calculations, and gives you the ability to sort, filter, and organize all of your information in one place. 

      Sharing within Google Apps

      One of the most powerful features of our district-wide usage of Google for Education accounts is the ability to share documents and collaborate in real-time.  To share your Google Slides, Docs, Sheets, simipy click the blule SHARE button in the upper right corner of the page.  From there you can share with another student or teacher by typing in their email address.  Then you can both work on the document together at the same time.
