  • Fall Book Fair:  October 26th - 30th

    Students and Parents,

We are excited about the huge variety of books that will be available at our Fall book fair this year and the eWallet payment option (see below for more information). There is something for everyone, from toddlers to adult readers, with new titles in Dog Man, Rowley’s Adventures, Pig the Pug and Baby-Sitters Club, to name a few. All students will visit the Book Fair twice during the week for 20 minutes each time.  Children who bring money on other days can be sent by their teacher when it is convenient for the teacher.  Since the fair is located in the library, no library books will be checked in or out during this week.

This Book Fair is an excellent opportunity to purchase books to read over breaks or anytime we can’t be in school this year.  The in-school fair will run for one week. The hours are M-Th from 7:00am - 2:20pm. Friday the fair will be open from 7:00am - 12:20pm to allow time to pack up the materials. Unfortunately, no parents will be allowed to visit the book fair this year and we will not be able to have our family night, but there will be some virtual opportunities to shop with your students. Be sure to check your email and the PALS Facebook page for updates on this new way to browse our book fair from home.

One easy way to shop from home is through our Online Book Fair at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/waw. The online fair opens 10/18/20 and is available thru 10/31/20, giving you the opportunity to shop after the in-school fair ends.

We are also participating in the All for Books fundraiser this year. This is a wonderful program where all loose change collected and any rounded up amounts will go directly to gift certificates for randomly selected teachers to build their classroom libraries AND Scholastic, Inc. will donate an equal amount of books to needy children throughout the country. The collection containers will be at the check-out table from Monday - Thursday of the fair.

Remember to check out eWallet here: eWallet Instructions. Just think! No searching for cash, no loose change, no lost checks or bills. It does work a bit differently than last year. Any unspent funds in the eWallet will not be credited back to the credit card now. Instead, they can be used to donate to All for Books or they can be linked to an account in the Scholastic Store Online and used to purchase items there.

Finally, we will be having dress up days all week during our book fair. Remember, no full-face masks! All costumes must be school appropriate.

    M - Decade Day (50’s, 60’s, 70’s - pick your favorite!)

Tu - Future You Day (what do you want to be when you get older?)

W - Holiday Day (pick your favorite holiday and dress up for it!)

Th - Back to the Future Day (princess? knight? cowboy? or someone from the future?)

F - Back to Bed Day (PJ day - be sure to wear school shoes though)

Thank you for supporting your school library in this essential fundraiser!
