Wilma Hawkins, Principal
This is Wilma Hawkin’s 27th year in education and 8th year as an administrator at Elzie D. Patton Elementary. Prior to coming to Wilson County, she worked in the Rutherford County School System for 19 years where she taught grades 3rd, 4th and 5th; 6th grade Reading and Social Studies and 7th and 8th grade computer classes. She was also a Title I funded teacher and served as a Reading and Math Coach where she assisted teachers with best practices for student achievement and growth.
She attended Middle Tennessee State University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree in Library Science and Specialist in Education Degree in Administration and Supervision.
Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family. She also enjoys reading, traveling and shopping at antique and thrift stores as well as working in her church and being involved in her community by serving on the Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity Home Selection Committee.
