Special Called Board Meeting Update: 11/30/2020
-
At the 11/30/20 Special Called Board of Education Meeting, a motion "to approve mask mandate for K-5 effective 12-2-2020 to be revisited on January 11, 2021" was passed unanimously.
Beginning Wednesday, December 2nd, all K-5 students will be required to wear a mask/face covering as we continue to do whatever we can to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
As the passed motion states, this will be revisited at the January 11, 2021 BOE Meeting to determine the effectiveness of this enhanced health and safety measure among our K-5 students, teachers and staff.
Portions of the school day will not require a mask such as: eating times, physical activity in larger spaces/outdoors and activities where social distancing can easily be achieved.
Students with medical conditions, that a mask would interfere with, will be excused from the mandate. However, we kindly ask parents/guardians to please provide documentation to your school's principal for your child's medical condition.
If your child does not have a mask/face covering, and you're unable to provide one from home, then your school will be able to provide one.

This website is provided as a hub to support, inform and provide resources to parents, students, staff, and the community during the 2020-2021 school year affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Traditional, hybrid, and remote plans are being considered. These plans, when finalized, will be available here and will also be provided on each school's website.
Decisions are guided by the latest recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), orders from state and local governments based on the level of community spread, and by healthcare professionals.
The following guiding principles will be considered as we make decisions about our re-entry plans. When faced with a strategic decision and challenge, we remain flexible as we consider how to:
- Ensure the health and safety of students, families, and staff by adhering to public health recommendations
- Focus on continuing to raise student achievement by developing student and family focused learning pathways while still addressing each child's social-emotional needs
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Collect and review up-to-date data and information from stakeholders to revisit plans as needed
