Message from WCS - July 1, 2020

The calendar has now turned to July, and while we continue to work very hard in creating a safe and viable teaching and learning re-entry plan for the upcoming school year, we are also keeping a very close watch on state and local health guidance through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Significant health updates are being provided on a regular basis, and we are taking those guidelines very seriously.

We want to take this opportunity to let you know that this month, and perhaps the entire upcoming school year, will be filled with continuous updates and important information from the district. It’s strongly encouraged that you check your email regularly for any important district news that you need to know to help you plan accordingly.

To further help you with continuous updates, our district has created a special button located on our website’s homepage. It’s called, “KIDS: Ready. Set. Reconnect!

This site will serve as the centralized location for important district news and updates concerning pandemic precautions and re-entry plans, once they are finalized. Please keep in mind that this link launched today is just the foundation, and many more pieces of important information will be added to it in the days to come. Please go ahead and familiarize yourself with the link, so that you can locate it quickly when need be.

Furthermore, attached to this email is a flyer that tells you where you can locate and follow all of our district’s social media pages. Many of you already do, but for those who don’t, you can find our pages very easily with the information included. And please, no worries if you’re not into social media! Phone calls and emails will still be sent out regarding important district information, and it will be placed on our district website as well.

In closing, we also encourage you to watch our Board of Education Work Session scheduled for Thursday, July 2 at 5:00 p.m. This meeting will provide the latest update on back-to-school preparations, and where the district is through this process.

If you can’t watch at that time, then it will be available for you at your convenience in the archive section of that link.

Thank you,

Wilson County Schools
