Hybrid Teaching & Learning Model: January 19 - January 22, 2021
Wilson County Schools will return to school next week in our Hybrid Teaching & Learning Model. This includes all grades, K-12. Please remember that on Monday, January 18th, all schools are closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Hybrid plans announced today will be in place from Tuesday, January 19th – Friday, January 22nd.
Another districtwide health re-evaluation will take place next Wednesday, January 20th. From there, an announcement on how we proceed for the following week can be expected by next Thursday, January 21st.
The reason for the one week determination of teaching and learning plans rather than the usual two week transition is due to the timing coming out of our recent holiday break. While we have gathered important information on recent positive COVID-19 cases and quarantines involving our students and staffs, we want to remind our families that if you have not reported a current positive COVID-19 case or quarantine within your household to your respective school, then please do so immediately. If your child is feeling ill during next week’s Hybrid transition, then please do not send your child to school on their designated day.
Face coverings are still required for all grades upon return to next week’s Hybrid model.
All grades have experienced the Hybrid schedule this school year. While there’s no changes on what days students will attend (A/B days), families can still expect to receive additional information from their respective schools on the Hybrid plans set for next week.
Tuesday (1/19) is an “A” Day
Wednesday (1/20) is a “B” Day
Thursday (1/21) is an “A” Day
Friday (1/22) is a “B” Day
Exceptional Education Pre-K students will continue their current schedule into next week. Voluntary Pre-K will follow the Hybrid schedule. Should any Exceptional Education families have any questions about next week's schedule, then please feel free to contact your case manager or our Exceptional Education Department.
Food Service will be available using our Hybrid Learning Protocols. Should any students need food assistance on days when they are not in-person at school, families can email a cafeteria manager with any of our schools. Please place those orders by 9:00 AM each school day. Drive-thru meal pickup will be available at all of our campuses during the upcoming Hybrid Learning period. Meals can be picked up from 10:30-11:30 AM. The contact info for cafeterias can be found by visiting the School Manager Contact List.
For families who may be struggling with reliable access to the internet, please know that parking lots at all of our schools have been made available as a hotspot for additional support during this time. Please communicate with your child’s teacher(s) should you have any specific questions about classwork/assignments.
