Keeping up with what’s going on in Wilson County Schools just got a lot easier. Wilson County Schools has unveiled a new mobile app that’ll give parents, students, and staff access to more information than ever before, right on their phone.
Specifically, all of the announcements, headlines, district calendars and other information that’s frequently accessed on the school district’s website has been categorized into a series of easy to use icons that can be easily accessed. Users will have the option to choose which school or schools they wish to follow, share items with others with just one click, automatically add items to their personal calendar, and receive automated push notifications during emergencies and school closings.
Dr. Wright says, not only will the app benefit students, parents, and staff, but it’ll be great for members of the community who simply want to stay informed about what’s happening in local schools, “Gone are the days when people sat down at a desktop to get online. Today, more than half the people who access our website, actually do so from a handheld device. That’s why it became so important that we find a more practical way to share information and communicate.”
The free mobile app can be downloaded on iTunes or Google Play. For a direct link to download the app and more details about the app features, by visiting District Mobile App Information or via the link in the "Students & Family" section of the district website.
