DR. WRIGHT TALKS JUNE GRADUATION, PREPARATION FOR 2020-2021, & PANDEMIC PRECAUTIONS
We know it has been a very challenging past few months. The aftermath of the tornado on March 3, then the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic – needless to say, it has been a lot for all of us to digest and navigate through.
During these unprecedented times, we want you to know that our district remains committed to keeping our vision firmly placed on “Exemplary” public education.
Wilson County Schools earned “Exemplary” status from the State of Tennessee last year. It’s one of the highest distinctions that a district can receive for overall growth and achievement. We don’t take that honor for granted, nor do we aim for complacency. We are in a time when preparing for uncertainties is equally as important as building off past successes. Our dedicated team of administrators, teachers and staff are collaborating and planning tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that our district accepts and conquers any challenges that will come our way amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are all in this together, and while answers to many questions involving plans for the 2020-2021 school year remain incomplete at this time, please know that we are monitoring national and state health guidance very closely.
Check out Director of Schools, Dr. Donna Wright's video message with a conversation covering topics including: June’s graduation plans, ongoing preparedness discussions for the 2020-2021 school year, and pandemic safeguards/precautions that remain in place for our district.
As we move forward throughout these traditional summer break months, you can expect several updates via email, our district website and our district’s social media pages. Any information that can help you prepare better, we will provide that promptly.
We also want to take this opportunity to say thank you to our parents/guardians and our students for all your patience and understanding following the series of closures, cancellations and postponements. It all started with the tornado, then rolled into the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support during these difficult past months have been appreciated more than we could ever express – so we just say thank you over and over again!
