Open Enrollment 2025-2026

The 2025-2026 Open Enrollment for Wilson County Schools will take place on October 16 through November 14, 2024.

Wilson County School District Parents/Guardians that would like their student to attend a school different from their zoned school can apply by completing one of the forms below:

Below you will find the schools that are available and the number of seats available per grade level.  Note that if we have more applications than seats available a lottery will take place at the Wilson County Board of Education Board Room on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.  All parents will receive an email notification on or before November 27, 2024 concerning the status of their application.

Open Enrollment Schools for 2025-2026:

  • Elzie D. Patton Elementary (K-5) K-12, 1st-10, 2nd-6, 3rd-5, 4th-0, and 5th-10
  • Lakeview Elementary (K-5) K-0, 1st-6, 2nd-3, 3rd-4, 4th-7, and 5th-13

Schools not on the Open Enrollment list to due to being over 90% capacity:

  • Gladeville Elementary
  • Rutland Elementary 
  • Lebanon High School
  • Mt. Juliet Middle School

Things to note:

  • Students rezoned in middle school will not face eligibility concerns for sports programs during the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Parents of students approved for Open Enrollment must provide transportation to and from school daily.
  • Good grades, attendance, and discipline must continue for the exemption to remain active.
  • Once approved, families will not have to resubmit another application for the duration of the current school.  Once the student changes schools then the parents would review the Open Enrollment schools at that time.
  • Please note schools rezoned (ex Elzie Patton, West Elementary, Stoner Creek, and West Wilson Middle) will not have the correct zoning in the current year’s transportation portal.  
  • If you do not live in the Wilson County School District then the only exemption granted would be for employees.  We encourage parents to look at the wcschools.com Human Resources section of our website.
